About Anderson
Anderson, Indiana is located in Madison County and has a total population of somewhere around 60,000. The city was named after Chief William Anderson, whose mother was Lenape, a Delaware Indian, and father was of Swedish descent. The village was originally called Anderson’s Town or “The Heathen Town Four Miles Away” before being formally named Anderson.
Anderson is known for being the headquarters of the Church of God and home to Anderson University. The Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom located in Anderson and designed by renowned architect John Eberson, is one of only 12 atmospheric theatres left in the US and Canada.
