About Baldwinsville
An area of great natural bounty, the region between the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario is blessed with fertile soil and heavy rainfall. Baldwinsville, north of Syracuse and the center of Onondaga County, is well positioned to take advantage of these natural blessings. An area of open farmland, the center of the Iroquis confederacy of native peoples, this region has prospered as the agricultural capital of upstate New York.

Named afer the original settlers, Dr. Baldwin and his wife Elize returned to the area in 1808 after falling in love with the potential of this region during a visit ten years earlier. Inspired by the history of the ancestral grounds the town occupied, Reverend William Martin Beauchamp compiled an exhaustive history of the Iroquois nations and published a six volume series of books on the subject around the turn of the century. The Reverend served the parish of the Grace Episcopal Church, one of the first churches in the USA to use electric lighting.
