About Bath
Home of the oldest continuous County Fair in the USA, Bath, New York annually celebrates the importance of the dairy industry and the agricultural traditions of this rural county on the Pennsylvania border. The county seat of Steuben County, Bath hosts the Steuben County Fair every year as well as a dairy festival.

The town of Bath also has a proud military tradition, being the site of the New York State Soldiers and Sailors home. Now part of a larger complex of Veteran's Services and a Medical Center for Veterans, it also includes a national cemetary. It was also the site of discovery of the remains of the oldest "unknown soldiers", believed to be British soldiers killed during the Revolutionary War. A 40 foot granite monument was built in 1892 to commemorate the Civil War fallen.

Founded in 1793 by William Pulteney and named after this first settler's favorite English town, Bath was also the name of Pulteney's favorite daughter. The village was incorporated in 1816 and reorganized as a town in 1836.
