About Butler
Butler is a town in Choctaw County, Alabama. At the advent of Choctaw County in 1847, Butler was made the county seat. The city is named in honor of an American soldier & statesman killed in the Mexican-American War by the name of Colonel Pierce Butler. Butler is located on a total of 5.6 sq miles. He was formerly the Governor of South Carolina before his military term.
