Butler, Indiana is located in Dekalb County, Indiana and has a population of 2,725. Butler has a small local government consisting of a mayor and a city council, which consists of five members.
Butler has one area of water called Big Run Creek, which flows, through Maxon Park in the northeast part of Butler. Maxon Park is the local athletic facility and offers an ice skating rink, sledding hill and nature trails. All together there are seven parks servicing the Butler area, Hendrickson Park is one of the newest parks and is primarily a paintball facility.
Butler University, which was founded by attorney and abolitionist Ovid Butler, is 290-acre liberal arts based university. Named “Best in the Midwest “ by U.S. News Butler University is dedicated to developing students committed to making a positive difference in the world.
