About Castle Creek
A hamlet in the northwest part of the town of Chenango, Castle Creek was settled by Josiah West and was one of the first settled areas outside of Chenango. The Baptist and Methodist church established by Josiah and William West are still serving the faithful, although the West General Store and Grist Mill are no more.

Surrounded by rolling hills and watered by the Chenango River, the area around Castle Creek is prime farmland and has supported an agricultural community since 1787.Castle Creek is adjacent to the Chenango Valley State Park, a wetland area appreciated by naturalists and those who love the outdoors.
