About Colton
Named after the Civil War General and South Pacific Railroad Company Vice President David Colton, Colton is a one of the busiest railroad crossings in the United States located in San Bernardino County. The city has its share of notorious fame in which Angel Maturino Reséndiz, also known as The Railway Killer or the Railroad Killer committed one of his murders in the city of Colton. Virgil Earp, of Wyatt Earp family fame also had his residence at Colton during his marshalling days. The city roughly has almost 50,000 residents with 14,000 households and almost 11,000 families as of the last census.
