Named America’s most affordable suburb by Business Week Fishers, Indiana is a suburb on Indianapolis and has been growing rapidly in recent years. Originally named Mudsock, the name was later changed to Fishers Switch, which was a reference to the railroad switches located in town but was eventually shortened to Fishers.
Along with the increase in population came an increase in the need for entertainment. The Fisher Banquet and Conference Center was seen such celebrities as Robert Kennedy Jr. and Michelle Obama. Also located in Fisher is The Artist’s Studio, which is a community theatre that produces many children and family friendly shows. Not to be left out the Conner Prairie Museum, which presents three different eras in the 19th century, is a wonderful living history museum and one the Fishers proud points.
