About Glennallen
Glennallen, although small in population, is nestled at the junction of Glenn and Richardson Highways just under 190 miles east of Anchorage. This makes it an important city as it provides gas, supples, and medical care for the heavy traffic on Glenn Highway.

It is also headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Land Management, Department of Transportation, and The Alaskan State Troopers.

Glennallen's name comes from two leading explorers of the Copper River region, Major Edwin Glenn and Lt. Henry Allen. Only one of every eight residents is an Alaskan native, although the area was historically inhabited by the Ahtna.
