About Goshen
The county seat of Orange County, the village of Goshen is the site of the oldest harness race in the USA. As early as 1750, residents of Goshen were racing their carriages on the main street. In 1838 a circular track was built and harness racing was born.

Races are still held on the original Historic Track, making it the oldest harness racing facility in the USA that is still in use. Not far away from the Historic Track, as the site is known, is Good Time Park, host of the Hambletonian, a prestigious race. The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is located in Goshen, underlining its historic importance to the sport.
