About Knox
The county seat of Starke County is Knox, Indiana. Located along the Yellow River the city is 3.9 squares miles with a population of 3,721.
The city was founded in 1851 and got its name from General Henry Knox. Henry Knox was an American bookseller who became chief artillery officer of the Contential Army and then the fist Secretary of War. As Secretary of War he presided over the creation of U.S. Navy.
In recent years the television series “Postcards From Buster” filmed its very first episode in Knox. The episode was called “Meet Me At the Fair” and featured Buster Baxter discovering what it is like to work on a farm.
