About Los Gatos
In the foothills of the Santa Clara Mountains, Los Gatos is an affluent corner of San Jose that was once known in Spanish as "Cat's Corner." The original land grant for the region referred to the area as such due to the numbers of mountain lions in the area.

Los Gatos was a favorite cottage area for the affluent of San Francisco and retains a relaxed getaway atmosphere. The substantial homes built in the earlier parts of the twentieth century have been complimented by the mansions built in the later half of the 1900s. The are is a favorite spot for antique shopping and enjoying sidewalk cafes.

Drawn to the quiet neighborhood and palatial estates, many members of the Bay Area sports teams make their residece in Los Gatos.
