About Malone
At the northern tip of New York State, the town of Malone has been involved in many of the historic events that shaped relations between the USA and Canada. Burnt by the British in the War of 1812, it was the assembly point of the Fenian Raiders, who invaded Canada in 1865.

The First Congregational Church was one of the final stops on the Underground Railroad that conveyed escaped slaves from the south to safety in Canada. The Church still proudly shows its hiding places in the basement and behind the choir. The Church is also mentioned in Laura Ingalls Wilder's story "The Farmer Boy." More famous for the "Little House on the Prairie" series, the Wilder homestead is five miles from Malone in the town of Burke.
