About Millerton
A town near the Connecticut border, Millerton was named "one of the ten coolest small towns in America" by Frommer's Travel magazine. Part of the appeal comes from the town's proximity to Taconic State Park, containing some of the largest unsegmented forestland in the Northeast.

Named for early settler and railroad contractor Sidney Miller, Millerton is a seemingly banal name, yet pales into comparison beside the unimaginitive moniker of the town whose borders it lies within. The town of North East is within the north east corner of the Great Nine Partner's Land Patent and the town's founders must have taxed their imagination to the limit when naming that town.
