About New Haven
New haven, Indiana was incorporated in 1865 as a town under Indiana law but was not incorporated into a city until 1963. Several homes built by Henry Burgess, the original founder of New Haven, still remain. A French settlement of Besancon lies on the eastern edge of New Haven and is home to the Saint Louis Catholic Church, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Agriculture is the main source of economy for New Haven. Surrounded by an abundance of fertile land Central States Grains, the largest producer of soybean and grain, decided to place it’s headquarters in this area.

New haven is also home to the headquarters of Do It Best Hardware and O’Neal Steel. These are just a few of the major employers in New Haven.
