Town of Johnsburg - Justice Court

About North Creek
Famous for its ski hills and outdoor recreation, North Creek is a hamlet in the town of Johnsburg. Situated within Adirondack Park, the largest National Historic Landmark in the United States, North Creek is adjacent to Gore Mountain.

Gore Mountain takes its name from a surveying term which means "unknown" or "unusable." The steep sides of the mountain, which deterred pioneers and surveyors, now attracts ski and snowboard enthusiasts from all over.

The historic Adirondack Railway has a station at North Creek, and it was to this station that then Vice President Theodore Roosevelt rode, from his sojourn on nearby Mount Marcy, when hearing of then President William McKinley's death.
