North Syracuse Village - Justice Court

About North Syracuse
A village near Onondaga Lake, North Syracuse is the site of America's first plank road. Built in 1846, the road was initially intended for transporting salt. Planked its entire length, the road was sixteen and a half miles long and tolls were collected every four miles to pay for repairs and upkeep.

The Fergerson family were the first settlers in the area when it was called Centerville. The Fergerson family still occupy the same plot of land in what is now the town center and many of the village streets bear their name.
