About Plymouth
The beginnings of Plymouth, Indiana are a sad story. Plymouth was the starting point of the Potawatomi Trail of Death. The Potowatomi Indians were forced to march from Plymouth to Osawatomie, Kansas. More than 40 of the original 850 tribal members died on the Trail of Death.

There are three yearly festivals in Plymouth. The Blueberry Festival is held on Labor Day each year and usually packs in over 500,000 people. Themed around the Native American and early pioneer history of the area is the Yellow River Festival, which includes food, dress and crafts all related to the era. During the summer the Hearts and Hands Latino Festival is always a popular one-day event celebrating the Latin culture in the area.
