Shipshewana, Indiana is considered to be the “Amish County” of Northern Indiana. The Amish influence greatly contributes to the small town atmosphere of Shipshewana. Most business are closed in the evenings and on Sundays out of respect for the strong family values and close community ties of the Mennonite-Amish traditions.

The Shipshewana Ice Festival is a town favorite. The town host’s dozens of sculptors, who will shave, drill and saw to form the most beautiful sculptures out of enormous blocks of ice. The sculptures are located thorough out the whole town giving plenty of opportunity to see the amazing creations.

A tribute to Blue Gate Restaurant and Marketplace for creating and crafting what today has become the biggest festival in Shipshewana, the Fall Crafters Fair! Quality artisans, quilters, carvers, painter, food vendors, cloggers and musicians of all types will be found among the quaint stores, providing demonstrations, and entertainment.
