About Williston Park
A village in the town of North Hempstead on Long Island, Williston Park was founded in 1925 by land developer William Chatlos.The original intention of Chatlos was to create an affordable suburban planned community for New York City commuters.

The village was formally incorporated in 1926 after residents of the village voted to make the spilt with East Williston. The village was named for an early settler, Samuel Willis, who settled in the area in the late 17th century. The family home of Willis' descendants stood in the village until 1950.
