About Windsor
To the southeast of Binghamton, the town of Windsor is the largest in Broome County. Originally the site of a Tuscarora village, the fortified town of Ouaquaga was overrun by the Continental Army after the Iroquois sided with the British during the Revolutionary War.

The first settlers in the area arrived on the site in 1785 and the town of Windsor was formed in 1807, one year after the formation of Broome County. The towns of Conklin, Sanford and Colesville were all created from the territory of Windsor town in later years.
