About Wynantskill
A suburb of the city of Troy, Wynantskill is a hamlet in the northeast corner of the village of North Greenbush. Settled by the Dutch as early as 1640, the principal stream that runs through the town was named the Wynant's Kill. This water source formed the source of water power for the towns of Greenbush and Albia

The first tavern and general store for the Greenbush region were built in Wynantskill in 1837, following the establishment of the post office in 1820. The Reformed Church at Wynantskill is the oldest in Greenbushm, established in 1794. The village of North Greenbush was formed in 1855.
